"There are, therefore, three conditions: two are vices—one of excess, the other of deficiency—and there is one virtue, the mean. " (Aristotle, Ethics, Book II, Part VIII)
This is a portrait of Issac Newton by William Blake.

Welcome to my Web site!

I have created this forum to share my interests with others and, to be quite honest, for the purpose of self-promotion. Many years on this planet has taught me that we can work as hard as we want but without self-promotion we achieve very little.

However, too much self-promotion will lead others to believe that we are completely self-absorbed. So, like Aristotle, I have come to believe in "the mean"; in other words, that course is best which steers safely between the Scylla of self-abnegation and Charybdis of hubris.

We must all admit, if we are honest, that success--although requiring great effort on our part--is never a solitary achievement. We all have those to whom we owe much, and those debts should never be forgotten.

The link above, or clicking on the picture to the left, will take you to some pictures of trips that I have taken over the years.

My most recent trip was to New Zealand. I was there for six weeks and it simply was not long enough.

I would highly recommend a stay in Wellington!

If you can't find it here, it is probably not worth discussing.
